Dr. Everard Meade

Dr. Everard Meade is director of Proceso Pacífico, a peacebuilding organization with programs in Culiacán, Tijuana, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta. He holds a PhD in Latin American history from the University of Chicago and specializes in violence, migration, and peace studies.  He was previously a professor and co-founder of the Human Rights Program at the University of California-San Diego, and later director of the Trans-Border Institute and Professor at the Kroc School of Peace Studies at the University of San Diego.  Dr. Meade has served as an expert witness in more than 150 asylum cases in U.S. courts, he is a frequent commentator on binational issues in various media outlets, and a special columnist for El Debate.
